Israel delegation visits Rwanda to strengthen ties

Avigdor Liberman a long side Israeli businessmen visit Rwanda to strengthen ties

Isreali Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman, accompanied by businessmen is in Rwanda to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship expected to promote business opportunities between the two countries.

Headed by Liberman the delegation is comprised of over 60 businessmen representing 50 Israeli companies who are keen to explore business opportunities in the areas of their interest in Rwanda.

During their three- day visit the officials will on June 11, 2014 sign an agreement

that will establish bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries.

Hon. Liberman and his Rwandan counterpart Hon. Louise Mushikiwabo, will sign the agreement.

The agreement will serve as a mechanism for promotion of cooperation in different areas notably education, health, energy and technology transfer among others.

In order to promote Investment the two countries will open Rwanda-Israel Business Seminar.

The seminar will  on ways of promoting business and investments opportunities in different areas such as irrigation technology and agro-mechanization, clean energy technology.

Including waste treatment and water infrastructure equipment, mining, aviation, infrastructure, Israeli technology in education including interactive multimedia systems and financial consultancy among other sectors.

Minister Avigdor and the delegation will meet with different Rwanda’s authorities and will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.

Rwanda and Israel established diplomatic relations soon after Rwanda’s independence in July 1962, which was severed later in October 1973 and restored in October 1994.

The two countries enjoy a warm and cordial bilateral relation with cooperation in economic, trade, investments and capacity building areas.
